Arebesk is a homegrown, mom-owned luxury brand known for creating the first designer grip sock. Arebesk launched out of a garage with just enough funding to bring in one style, the Phish Net collection, with no budget remaining for marketing. After selling out in two local Los Angeles studios, word spread quickly about Arebesk's unique designs and unbeatable quality. Arebesk is now sold by retail giants like Nordstrom, Free People Movement, and Discount Dance Supply, as well as in fitness studios throughout the world.
Arebesk is the first grip sock to offer two half circle silicone patches on the ball and heel of the foot, as well as a silicone tab inside the heel of the sock. This patented design uses double the silicone of traditional grip socks, providing extra cushion, a more secure fit, and remarkable traction throughout long periods of use. Arebesk also brought to market the signature mesh sock wash bag, which protects the silicone grip in the wash cycle and is sold with every pair of Arebesk grip socks.
At the age of 20, I moved from a small town to a big city with high hopes of making an impact in the fashion industry- with little money and lots of ideas.
My first attempt to sell accessories was cut short by a lot of rejection by local stores. I took my ideas to larger corporations, and I got my first big purchase order with Charlotte Russe. While that was a great stepping stone, it was not enough and my path moving forward was met with a lot of obstacles and disappointments. I promised myself I would learn everything about this industry, with the hopes that one day I'd see my hard work pay off. I gave up on my dreams somewhere along the way, settled down, had kids, and fell into the mom trap that many moms do.
I woke up one morning and realized I was not happy, and the only person that could change that was me. I signed up for pilates and instantly fell in love. Pilates strengthened my mind and body and reawakened my desire to create. My work in the studio inspired me to design high quality grip socks accompanied by a sock wash bag, and Arebesk was born.
