I was skeptical, but thought the socks were cute enough to give them a try. I'm now a convert! I actually receive compliments on this style :-) I bought 4 pairs: two of this sparkle grip closed toe style. I think this style sits slightly lower on the ankle than the Phish net style that I also purchased, and both styles are soft and say in place on me. The padding under the ball of the foot and the heel - yes, baby! I have a grippy yoga mat, so I sometimes need to step off my mat during barre classes to make my feet turn in these socks. During my yoga and reformer Pilates class, the socks give me the sense of stability (no slipping). I'll go back to mention the padding again - that added padding makes the difference in comfort during workouts on hard floors. As someone with one knee replacement, I'm cautious and conscientious about which exercises I do, and proper form. I can feel the difference after the class that the padding in the ball of the foot and heel make on my body. The wash bag is a nice "plus" to buying Arebesk brand socks along with learning its is a women owned & small business.
